We, members of C8, Civilek Józsefvárosért Egyesület, strongly believe in democracy and as a local patriot association are passionate about the quality of life of the locals in Józsefváros, the 8th district of Budapest. Our vision is to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving community where every resident feels empowered to shape the future of their neighborhood. Through collaborative efforts and grassroots initiatives, we aim to create a supportive environment where citizens can come together to address local challenges, promote social cohesion, and celebrate diversity.

At the core of our mission is a commitment to advocacy, community engagement, social justice and sustainable development. We see the local government as the tool for fulfilling our mission. We advocate for the interests of Józsefváros residents, striving to influence public policies, especially regarding local social policies, policies of the local government regarding public engagement and urban planning decisions that affect our community’s well-being. Through various projects and programs, we facilitate dialogue between residents, local authorities, and businesses, fostering a sense of ownership and collective responsibility for the district’s development. Additionally, we offer resources, support, and networking opportunities to local initiatives and grassroots movements, empowering individuals to take action and make a positive impact on their surroundings.

Our history dates back to 2013 when a group of passionate individuals came together with a shared goal of making a difference in our neighborhood. Since then, we have evolved into a dynamic platform for civic engagement and social change, garnering support and recognition from both residents and external stakeholders. Through our website and social media channels, such as Facebook, we actively communicate our vision, mission, and activities, inviting community members to join our efforts and contribute to building a more vibrant and inclusive Józsefváros.
